Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap- front or top load machine-

4 Cups – tap water (to boil)
1 Ivory soap bar
1 Cup – Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda
½ Cup – Borax

- Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with 4 cups of water.   Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.

-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)

*Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.

-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.

-Top Load Machine- 1  Cup per load (Approx. 120 loads)

-Front Load Machines-  1/2  Cup per load (Approx. 500 loads)

I actually had a hard time finding Borax, and A&H Super Washing Soda….however I did find everything at Jewel and Schnucks, and I imagine  any hardware store (Like Lowes or Menards) would have them there as well.  I paid about $9 for 3 bars of Ivory soap, and 2 big boxes of A&H and Borax.  I am anticipating this will last us about 2 years.

I got this recipe from a friend and this is hands down the best thing I’ve ever cooked!  Lol.  I wanted to spread the word because it has saved us so much money, maybe it can do the same for you.
